Resolution of honor/support

I realize the Coupland City Council has its plate quite full of business relating to our little community in its inaugural year but we are also part of the greater American community and what we are witnessing from the petty, vindictive, out of control tyrant, of questionable moral authority, posing as president/CIC is unconscionable.

This moral cretin has specifically directed some of his recent infantile attacks on the precious few living WWII veterans by punitively denying them access to their WW II Monument and at the same time has pointedly deprived volunteer Catholic priests from administering mass to active duty military personnel.

This is an outrage of epic proportions and our country and community forsakes its American heritage, reason and compassion if we do not take the time to raise our voice in formal resolution of support and honor for those who served and now serve, and also condemnation of the errant, repugnant actions of this spiritual dwarf who postures as a leader, while soiling himself, insulting the American people and profaning the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice as well as those currently volunteering to do the same.

The time is way past due to push back against the outrages of the punk pretending to be president and it must start from the bottom up.

  • Hospice death FM 619
  • Burglary of building Hwy. 95
  • Assault by contact FM 1466
  • Burglary of habitation CR 463
  • Traffic enforcement along Hwy. 95, FM 1660, and FM 973 led to citations for:
  • Driving while license suspended
  • Speeding
  • Defective headlight
  • Failure to report change of address
  • Disregard no passing zone
  • Failure to maintain financial responsibility
  • No valid inspection
  • Defective stop lamps
  • Not equipped with required equipment

WHEN: Thursday, October 10, 1 p.m.

WHAT: Stacey Mathews will be sworn in as the presiding judge of the 277th District Court in Williamson County. Governor Perry appointed Mathews as judge on Monday, October 7. Mathews is an assistant district attorney for the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office and former assistant district attorney for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Monday, October 7: During twilight, the waxing crescent Moon shines to the right of Venus. Well to the Moon’s lower right, while twilight is still fairly bright, binoculars show Saturn above Mercury. [Publisher’s Note: Austin smog will make seeing Saturn and Mercury almost impossible.]

Tuesday, October 8: The Moon shines above Venus in twilight. Depending on where you are in North America, the Moon, Venus, and fainter Antares form a nearly equilateral triangle, as shown at right.

You can also see the International Space Station fly over beginning at 8:13 PM tonight! This is from NASA’s free text alert system called “Spot the Station“:

Translation: Look to the southwest at exactly 8:13 PM. It will appear low in the sky at first. Austin lights will interfere for a bit but be patient. It will rise silently as it heads in a northeasterly direction until it reaches a maximum elevation of 72 degrees (straight overhead would be 90 degrees). It will be visible for about 5 minutes and when it fades, it will fade fast. This is because it will pass into the shadow of the Earth (sunset for the ISS).

By the way, here is a list of the brightest objects in the sky, in order:

  1. The Sun
  2. The Moon
  3. Venus
  4. The International Space Station
  5. Jupiter

Of course, supernovae, comets, meteors, and exploding asteroids can rival the Sun and the Moon but only temporarily.
